In The Crushing

There’s this song that’s been in my head on repeat since I heard it a few weeks ago at Church, it’s called “New Wine.” After church that day I had to find the name of it because at the time I didn’t know it. And since then, of course I’ve added it to my playlist.  I will leave a link to the song on YouTube below.

Basically, what I get from this song is, during difficult seasons or circumstances, we’re being transformed to what God created us to be. The Crushing really means The Transforming because that is literally what is happening. Even when you think of it in a literal sense. When you crush grapes ultimately the finished product is wine, right, or some really good juice. Let’s look at another side of crushing. What if you crushed a car? You can’t use it as that same car anymore, but the material/substance that makes up the car can still be used!! Sometimes when you’re being transformed you won’t come out looking the same. The transformation may not look like anything you ever imagined. But that crushed 1990 car that was on its last leg just got refurbished and retransformed into the brand new 2023 car of your dreams. The Crushing!! I found myself at one point of time asking God why I was given certain hardships. Even knowing that the crushing produces transformation I often wondered, does everyone go through this process? So, you mean to tell me that everyone goes through difficulties just to be transformed into their creation? But then there’s also a part in the same song that says, “When I trust You I don’t need to understand” All I can really say is The Glory!! By just trusting Him you don’t have to worry about the why! Does the why really matter? What if He told you, you were destined for better, that’s why. Or that others are not walking in their destiny and not even close, that’s why they’re not experiencing hardships. What if He even told you that some people may look like they have it all, but things are not as they seem. Or that this is your path to greatness not theirs. I mean I could go on and on but what does it matter? How would the why change the path? This is your life; this is what He has destined YOU for!! You can’t worry about the next person, by worrying about others you’re making life even harder.

So just remember in the crushing is where we are transformed. That’s where our thinking is transformed, our bodies, and our minds. In the Transformation is the testimony. A chance for you to share with others how God has divinely intervened in your life, ultimately given Him the praise that He deserves.  And when we trust Him, we don’t need to understand why we’re going through the crushing. All we have to do is show up and keep showing up. He knows how to turn EVERYTHING into good. He even uses the hardships we went out and created ourselves, to move us into our destiny.  The best part of it all is that He is right there beside us the whole journey.

I’m going to share with you somethings He’s spoken to me lately.

  1. Discipline (Walking with God and Seeking Him first takes discipline)
  2. Discernment (I’m learning to decipher His voice from the crowd and even my own voice. And to also trust my instinct. I can judge a situation without judging the person.)
  3. Being Discreet (Simply in a manner of being intentionally confidential with certain things that He has told me not to share, no matter the reason. Even if it’s exciting news and you’re excited to share it. If He has put it on you to be discreet about a certain situation, be obedient!)

He’s doing something new. I know for me, but I feel like also for you! Let’s all come into agreement that life is sometimes hard, and we are going to worry even if we know we’re not supposed to, right? Sometimes we’ll even throw a pity party. Use your bible as fuel to remember God’s goodness. Try to memorize a few scriptures so you’ll have a weapon when the enemy tries to distract or lie to you. When all else fails just pray, I promise He is always there.

“Am I a God near at hand,” says the Lord, “And not a God afar off? Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” Says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord. - Jeremiah 23:23-24 NKJV

Just try to remember that worrying does not change anything but trusting in God can change everything!!!

Please feel free to comment down below if you get something else from this song or would like to add your opinion.  Or comment a song that made a season of your life seem clearer. It doesn’t have to be worship music but let’s keep it PG lol. We would love to hear from you.

And as always YOU CAN DO IT!!! Have a blessed weekend!
